Last Rent Payment

Yesterday I went to the headquarters of my guesthouse company in Higashi Koganei (東小金井) to pay my last rent for this year.

I had to pay extra because after next month I'm staying for an extra 17 nights until my flight home on 10th July. They had no problem with me leaving in the middle of the month, and it doesn't cost any extra for the daily extension.

But they are all such lovely people it was quite sad saying goodbye to them. I can't believe I'm already so close to leaving Japan again! I need to make the most of these last 7 weeks.

Wow! Sorry to hear about the wisdom tooth... I guess I was lucky, I have all four of mine in and I didn't feel a thing.. and they don't need to be pulled either...

Kind of sad things are coming to a end huh?

Question: How early should one book for a room at an guest house? And could one survive with very LITTLE (Travel) Japanese for 6 months? I might have more if I can get into a university class...(But one semester's worth...)

Wow, that's really lucky! Maybe my teeth just wanted to cause some drama while I'm abroad... hehe

About the guesthouse booking, Sakura House rooms tend to fill up quickly, so if you see one you like the look of available, it's probably a good idea to try to book it as soon as you can. Often they don't have a problem leaving a room empty for a couple of months if you've reserved it in advance. That's what happened with me. It's a similar story with the company I'm using now (www.guesthouse.co.jp), and they are probably more relaxed than Sakura House.

And in the way of Japanese, when I first arrived I only had a basic knowledge of grammar, no real-world speaking practice, and I could read about fifty kanji at best, so I really wouldn't worry about the language. If I could manage, anyone can! Things do fall into place out here, so just keep practising and don't worry!

Best of luck with everything!

Thanks so much!!! I heard that there's a school here that offers classes much CHEEPER than university... sadly it's a years course. But it's better than nothing lol.
